The club was formed in 1995, and entered teams in all grades of the Gold Coast Hockey Association competition during its foundation year.
The club is now in its 12th year, and has progressed steadily, becoming one of the largest in the Gold Coast competition. During this time we have won a number of premierships in both senior and junior divisions.
Season 2002 saw our Division 1 and 2 women win their respective premierships. Our Division 1 Men reached their first grand final in both the Gold Coast and Tweed Border Intercity competitions.
At the other end of the spectrum, Mudgee Hockey Club is one of only three clubs with a Minkey modified development program to create more opportunities for juniors from 5 years of age.
The club has been enormously successful in both producing and recruiting considerable numbers of representative players at District, State and National level in both seniors and juniors. Two ex-Olympian gold medallists, an Australian Vets mens player, a current under-18, under-21 women's reps, and a Brisbane Blades player are members of our strong club.
