Qld Sport & Recreation has a funding program called the Young Athlete Assistance Program  - which may potentially be helpful for the young representative athletes in town, to help them get to competitions. 
If you have a child representing Gold Coast or Qld, you may be able to get some small financial assistance for their travel to the competition. For more information, check out thier website.
