Special General Meeting (postponed) Monday 7 September. An open meeting is called for next Monday, to which all members and parents of Juniors are invited, at the Woodchoppers Inn, Mudgeeraba, 7pm start.

We will discuss the Club structure, which roles do what, and how we could improve for next season - no pressure to take on roles, just learn a bit more about what has to be done behind the scenes in order to get teams on turf each week. We are also proposing a change in how players pay fees next season, & will show how fees are currently calculated/GCHA charges. The Association is holding a Planning 2010 meeting the previous thursday, so we hope to disseminate info from that too. Can you please indicate to your Coach if you will be coming along; this is your chance to shape the club.

Annual General Meeting Wednesday 14 October. At Woodchoppers Inn. Mudgeeraba 7pm. The "Hockey Year" runs 1st October to 30th September each year. At the AGM reports and Accounts are presented to members, and the 'old' Management Committee stands down, and a new one is voted in. Most of us disappear into the woodwork over summer, but preparation for the next season & advertising for new members/In-school sessions start January/early Feb, as Trials start Feb for the season March-Sept.

Mudgeerabah Hockey Club Annual: MUDGEE MOOLA NIGHT

Mudgee Moola 2009 was bigger and better than last year.  Oh boy … my head still hurts!!!  I’ll put it down to ‘Too much fun in one night’ as I can’t possibly put it down to anything else.… I’ll be sure to remember to spread the fun over a few weeks (or even years) as I get older.    Another very successful & enjoyable evening had by all if I do say so myself!  Several James Bonds’ made an appearance, plenty of bow ties, sequined dresses, top hats and frocks - Much different from the attire normally seen in the shed I might add.

The prize pool was again exceptional with over 30 individual prizes on offer.  Our thanks and appreciations go out to all families, businesses, individuals and club community members that donated and or organised prizes.  I would encourage everybody to support these businesses as they have so graciously supported the club.

Many thanks to everyone who was involved in the setting up, selling tickets, organizing the food & drink and of course attending.  These nights take a bit to get going and small contributions from many make it that more enjoyable for all concerned.   I’m pleased to report that we were able to raise $1500 despite the fact that we charged less & provided more.  I can’t remember the last time I paid $25 to have free drink, food and entertainment and walked out the door with a huge blow up Jim beam bottle OR a $500.00 accommodation voucher, OR- of course the Mudgee Undie! (Glad to have em back!  I think they missed me ... going straight to the ‘pool room’ they are) Worth the entry fee alone!

Punters had plenty of variety when it came to gaming including The Mudgee Wheel, Crown & Anchor, Roulette, Two up and the three Mudgee Magic Millions Horse races.  However, the highlight of the evening turned out to be throwing a gold coin at a bottle of Jim Beam…. Go figure?  Hang on now I got it … my neighbor won that bottle and decided to make sure it tasted ok before he left .. I had to partake in one or two as a genuine effort to be a good host…. maybe that’s why my head hurts? …. Nahh.. I’ll still put it down to the fun.   If you missed it then you missed out!  Oh well, better luck next year!
